Chad Herron founded the American Book Rescue Project from a deep appreciation for the stories, and the physical history, that books carry. As a collector, reader, and author, he understands that a book is more than its text: it may hold signatures, inscriptions, marginal notes, ownership marks, and tangible evidence of how knowledge moved through the world. ABRP grew from a simple conviction: digital access and preservation of original books should work together. Chad supports responsible digitization while advocating a common-sense safeguard, that books with potential historical, cultural, or research value should be evaluated before irreversible destruction. Through ABRP, he is building a practical community of booksellers, libraries, collectors, and concerned readers committed to one mission: Digitize the words. Preserve the book. Protect the record.
